trying to get going again
right now i feel nauseous and irritable--i just returned from my first pilates class ever, in which i learned that i have no core muscle strength to speak of. now i am in the midst of my period, crampy, and feeling sort of angy at the world. the fitness, she is not easy for jackie.
here's what's pissing me off today: my gym has the shittiest group fitness schedule imaginable unless you are already in perfect shape. maybe it's a sign of my age, but all i want is a regularly scheduled class i can go to a few times a week. step aerobics 2-3 times a week, either early in the morning, or after work--i don't even care what time it is. OR pilates 2-3 days a week would be good too. even both, so i could alternate--that would be FABULOUS. but no. for a beginner at any of these things, you are lucky if you get one class a week on the schedule at all, and even more lucky if that one class falls when you can make it. today i left work early for this pilates class, and there will not be another one like it till next monday. pilates II at 4:30 pm they have, but that doesnt really help me. *sigh* and i have complained about this a few times, and the response i get is--yeah--a lot of people complain about that. so--um--why not change it? seems like child's play to schedule things so that of the 3 classes they have every evening, one is beginner level, one is advanced, and the thrid one is--and i know this is going to sound radical, but i'm thinking outside the box here--somewhere in between. like intermediate. maybe in the mornings they could alternate and have beginner classes, say monday and wednesday, and advanced classes on other days, like tuesday and thursday. oh, and maybe don't overhaul the ENTIRE SCHEDULE every month. just a thought.
today the pilates instructor kept going on and on abut how good we would feel if we did a pilates class 2-3 times a week. the overwhelming response from the class was--we agree--how do we do that? join 3 gyms?
maybe i am just cranky.
anyway. i went to pilates. yay.

Getting to the class is more than half the battle, so congratulations on that! :)
And yeah, your gym sounds like it sucks. Sorry about that.
